Insurance for credit or overdraft cards
In short
Life is simpler when you have a backup plan for the unexpected. If you often use a credit card or overdraft, we suggest life insurance designed specifically to keep you protected at all times.
How does it work?
We wanted to make sure you'd be protected no matter what. So we offer you insurance that, depending on your socio-professional status (employed in the public or private sector, PFA, retired), covers you for the following types of events:
Death as a result of illness or accident
Insurance covers the loan balance so your family gets out of debt
Involuntary loss of employment
The insurance covers a maximum of 6 monthly indemnities per event and 12 indemnities in total
Hospitalisation due to accident or illness
The insurance covers a maximum of 2 monthly allowances during one year of insurance
- Death from any cause
Costs
You will pay 2.68 lei for every 1000 lei used from your credit limit.
If at the end of a month you have not used the credit line, you do not need to pay the premium for the following month, but the insurance remains in force and you are entitled to compensation if you use the credit line the following month and do not return the full amount.
Extra-benefits
The first 3 months of insurance (the month you buy insurance and the following 2 months) are free. The insurance premium is calculated according to the amount used from the credit limit. You can take out insurance on the spot without a medical examination, all you need is an affidavit.
How do you get insurance?
Insurance attached to credit or overdraft cards is available exclusively in the BT branch network.
You can only take out this type of insurance if you have a BT shopping or overdraft card.
