1. Data controller and data subjects
Banca Transilvania S.A. (hereinafter also referred to as "the bank" or "BT") with the identification and contact details set out in General Information Notice on the processing and protection of personal data belonging to BT Customers, processes your personal data if you use the BT VISUAL HELP platform (the "platform"). As a user of the platform, you are the data subject of this processing.
BT Visual Help is a platform offered to BT clients (natural or legal persons) who have at least one current account opened in their name at BT and a card attached to it, under the conditions set out in the BT Visual Help Terms and Conditions of Use, which we recommend that you consult.
2. Purposes and grounds for data processing. Categories of personal data and consequences of refusing to have your data processed
- For verification of identity and BT customer status
In order to be able to use the platform, we will need to verify that you are a BT customer who is a natural person account holder, and in the case of business customers, their legal representative. We carry out these checks in accordance with our legal obligations and because we have a legitimate interest in preventing fraud. For these identity verification purposes, we will check the telephone number you are callingto ensure that it is the one you have declared to the bank.
In the case of
legal persons* we collect extra and check
unique registration code (i.e. the CUI in the case of legal entities, including in the case of authorized individuals or the tax registration code - CIF- in the case of persons exercising liberal professions).
*Although information about legal persons is not usually considered personal data, information about entities such as P.F.A., I.I., individual forms of exercising liberal professions (e.g.. individual offices of lawyers, notaries, bailiffs, physicians, etc.) - hereinafter referred to as "professionals" - are subject to the personal data regime and we will process them appropriately.
If, based on the phone number you are calling from, we identify that you are a BT Pay user and you meet the eligibility requirements (e.g. you have at least one card enrolled in the app, you have completed the necessary identification process for BT Pay etc.) you will be able to confirm your identity by accessing (within the time limit) a push notification, which you will receive in this app.
On the other hand, if you are not a BT Pay user, if you are using this application but do not meet all the eligibility conditions for confirming your identity via this application, or if you do not wish to confirm your identity via BT Pay, you will be directly prompted to enter your personal data consisting of your personal identification number and, where applicable, your unique registration code (the latter if you are applying for access for a professional customer).
Refusal to approve identification by one of the above-mentioned methods will make it impossible for us to verify your quality, so you will not be able to use the platform.
- For the provision of BT services offered on the platform
Once you are identified, you will be able to carry out the operations provided for in the terms and conditions of this platform. For this purpose, we will process the following information, which is personal data when it pertains to individuals or professionals, in the performance of the contract you have concluded with the bank:
- account details: account name, currency, IBAN, balance, number of Star points for credit card accounts included in the Star BT loyalty programme, details of transactions, blocked amounts and payment obligations as specified in the BT VISUAL HELP Terms and Conditions of Use
- the e-mail address declared in the relationship with the bank to which the current account or credit card statement is sent to you, for a requested period of time, or for communications following the registration of the request to contest a card transaction, where further communications are necessary to resolve the case
- list of IBANs of current accounts opened with the bank
- card(s) details: card type (Visa/MasterCard), product name, cardholder/card user name, card number (first 4 and last 4 digits)
- information about daily transaction limits: number of transactions, ATM cash withdrawal, card payments in shops, online payments with CVV, online payments without CVV
- information on non-card loans: product name, credit account, rate amount, currency, date of next installment, date of last installment paid, date of maturity of the loan, date of taking out the loan, interest rate, interest type, initial loan balance, current loan balance, information on overdue loans: outstanding principal, outstanding interest, commission and penalty
- deposit information: product name, account, currency, current amount, interest rate, date of establishment, maturity date, interest to date, capitalisation
- savings account information: product name, account, currency, current amount, interest rate, date of establishment, current interest rate
- information on active liens
3. Retention period of personal data processed within the BT Visual Help platform
Your data, as a BT customer, as well as the data relating to the operations carried out through BT Visual Help will be kept for a period, as a rule, of 5 years after the termination of the business relationship of the natural or legal person customer with the bank, in accordance with the applicable legal provisions in the field of know your customer, except in situations where other legal provisions require the continued retention of data.
Any other data entered on the platform or accessed by BT will be retained for a maximum period of 3 years from the date you stop using the platform, unless the law provides otherwise, in which case the statutory period will apply.
4. Recipients of personal data processed within the BT Visual Help platform
Some of the personal data processed within the platform may be accessed, on a need-to-know basis, by service providers who support us in offering the platform, acting on such data as a processor of the bank.
5. Rights of the data subject
In accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), as well as other applicable legislation in the field of processing and protection of personal data, as a data subject (BT customer) of the processing of personal data in the context of the use of the BT Visual Help platform, you benefit from the rights detailed under the General Information Notice on the processing and protection of personal data of BT Customers, an integral part of BT Privacy PolicyPrivacy Policy, found on Banca Transilvania website including in the section Privacy Hub section of the website or, upon request, in any of the bank's offices.

6. Other mentions
This specific information notice can be found at any time on the bank's website www.bancatransilvania.ro, in the section Privacy Hub or you can obtain it on request from any BT branch. We may revise this notice from time to time without creating less favorable conditions in terms of the processing and protection of personal data.
