Agro Grants at a glance

If you are a small or medium sized enterprise, a micro, small or medium-sized enterprise operating in the agricultural sector, you can access grants and micro-grants from European funds for working capital.

We invite you to find out more details in the emergency ordinance for the 2 funding schemes and the areas of activity of eligible companies.

Good to know

For micro-grants and working capital grants, eligible applications will be selected in order of submission. The rule is followed
first come - first served.
If you are a BT customer, we will automatically open your grant sub-account once we receive the list of applicants from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism.
If you are not yet a BT customer, you can open your current account online here. You also automatically benefit from Internet & Mobile Banking, so you can carry out transactions online. We will automatically open your grant sub-account as soon as we receive the list of applicants from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism.

Steps to take

Apply

Apply in the portal and choose BT as your partner bank in this program.

Fill in your identification details online

You get approved

The Ministry reviews all applications and approves the eligible ones. The grant contract is signed next.

You receive the money in your account

Once the Ministry sends us the grant money, we transfer it to your account.

Types of grants

It is worth €5,000 and is awarded once only, on a contract basis. The following types of business can benefit:

SMEs active in agriculture, aquaculture, fish farming and the food industry which provide proof, through the financial statements submitted, that they do not have employees with individual employment contracts as at 31 December 2019
PFAs (authorised natural persons), IPEs (sole proprietorships) and AFs (family businesses) active in agriculture, aquaculture, fish farming and the food industry which are included in the list of eligible activities annexed to Government Emergency Ordinance No 44/2008

SMEs must simultaneously meet the following conditions:

activity for at least 3 calendar months before 31 December 2019
a turnover of at least 5,000 euros (equivalent in RON) as of 31 December 2019, except for beneficiaries who set up their company in 2019 with a turnover of less than 5,000 euros, for which the minimum turnover threshold is calculated by multiplying the number of full months of activity in 2019 by the sum of 415 euros
activity maintained for at least 6 months after the microgrant was awarded
did not have employees with an employment contract on 31.12.2019

PFA, II and AF regulated by GEO 44/2008 must simultaneously meet the following conditions:

current/operational activity for a minimum of 3 calendar months before 31 December 2019
activity maintained for at least 6 months after the microgrant was awarded
there is no State aid recovery decision
are not subject to composition, winding-up, insolvency or bankruptcy proceedings
have not applied for State aid under measure 2 for grants from non-reimbursable external funds

It is aimed at SMEs, agricultural companies, agricultural cooperatives, producer groups, producer organisations in the fields of agriculture, aquaculture, fish farming and the food industry. It is awarded as follows:

For SMEs with a turnover in 2019 of between €5,000 and €33,350, the grant amount is €5,000.
For SMEs with a turnover in 2019 of more than 33,350 euros, the amount of the grant can be 15% of the turnover in 2019, but not more than 120,000 euros.

Beneficiaries must co-finance 15% of the grant amount.

In order to benefit from the grant applicants must simultaneously meet the following conditions:

Make an operating profit from current/operating activity, i.e. from operating activity, in one of the last three financial years prior to the submission of the grant application, according to the financial statements submitted
Co-participate in the establishment of the working capital with a minimum of 15% of the value of the grant at the time of its use
Maintain or, where appropriate, increase the number of employees since the date of submission of the application for a period of at least 6 months at the date of award of the grants, except where individual employment contracts are concluded for seasonal workers and/or day-labourers
CAEN code for which the State aid is requested to be authorised according to the legal provisions in force on 31.12.2019
