July was a month of records, firsts, and a reaffirmation of BT’s leadership. From the largest round of funding in BT’s history and the first agency-based commerce project carried out in partnership with Visa, to new milestones reached in savings, investments, and private pensions, the month brought new opportunities to finance the economy, accelerate innovation, and support customers and communities.



#Financing



#Leadership

BT announced the renewal of CEO Ömer Tetik’s term through 2030. In the first half of this year, the terms of three other members of the bank’s executive management were renewed: George Călinescu—Deputy CEO for Finance; Oana Ilaș—Deputy CEO for Retail Banking; and Leontin Toderici—Deputy CEO for Operations.


 
#AI & Digitalization

  • Banca Transilvania and Visa have completed the first payment initiated by an AI agent on behalf of a customer as part of the Visa Agentic Ready program.

  • Visa and Banca Transilvania will host the 2026 General Assembly of the WE BUILD Consortium in Bucharest on November 3–4. The WE BUILD Consortium is a European initiative dedicated to the development and testing of the EU Digital Identity Wallet and the EU Business Wallet. The event will bring together 450 representatives from 200 organizations across 28 countries.

#Superbrand

Banca Transilvania has been included in the Superbrands Romania 2026–2027 selection, an international program that recognizes brands valued for their trustworthiness, relevance, and ability to create long-term value.

In an interview with Financial Intelligence, Ömer Tetik, CEO of BT, analyzed the outlook for the Romanian economy.



#MacROZone

In July, BT’s macroeconomic analysis addressed some of the most important issues for Romania’s competitiveness and development: public debt, demographics, energy, and purchasing power.



#Community

More than 9,000 Romanian children and young people from the diaspora are participating in the ARC 2026 Camps this summer. Banca Transilvania supports the program through financial education sessions designed to help participants develop healthy financial habits and acquire skills that will be useful for the future.
