March was a month marked by strategic milestones for Banca Transilvania Group. The BT brand reached a symbolic milestone, surpassing $1 billion in the Brand Finance Banking 500 2026 ranking. The month saw product launches, significant advancements in AI, as well as major financing deals in Romania and internationally.

The BT brand is worthover $1 billion

Banca Transilvania remains the strongest banking brand in Europe, with a brand value of over $1 billion, according to the Brand Finance Banking 500 2026 ranking. At the same time, BT has remained in the top 10 of the world’s strongest banking brands for the fifth consecutive year.

Contribution to Romania's performance

BT is among the main contributors to Romania's performance in the Global Innovation Index 2025 (ranked #49 out of 139 countries).

BT is the first bank in Romania to join the Visa Agent-Ready program, contributing to the testing and development of autonomous commerce solutions based on AI agents.

Banca Transilvania was named the Best Private Bank in Romania by Euromoney magazine.

Continuity in leadership

  • Ionuț Stroe is the new CEO of BT Pensii; he previously served as Deputy CEO. The position became vacant after Corina Cojocaru was appointed CEO of BRD Pensii, a company acquired by the BT Group in November 2025.

  • Robert Anghel is the new CEO of Salt Bank, having previously served as Chief Business Officer. Gabriela Nistor, who has led Salt Bank since 2022, is stepping down from her executive role but will continue to contribute to the bank’s strategic direction and its next stages of growth as a member of the Board of Directors.
