Visa and Banca Transilvania will host the 2026 General Assembly of the WE BUILD Consortium in Bucharest on November 3–4. WE BUILD is a leading European initiative dedicated to the development and testing of the EU Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet) and the European Business Wallet (EBW). The “WE BUILD for the Future” event will bring together 450 representatives from 200 participating organizations across 28 countries, who will review and highlight the progress made across the 13 use cases for the digital wallet.

Through its involvement in the WE BUILD Consortium, Banca Transilvania is contributing to the development of the European digital identity, following the successful completion in 2025 of the first payments based on the EU Digital Identity Wallet. Together with its partners in WE BUILD, the bank is involved in both the development of the European eIDAS 2.0 framework and the testing of specific use cases, which will accelerate the adoption of the European digital wallet.

WE BUILD, a consortium focused on specific use cases for the digital wallet

WE BUILD is a Large-Scale Pilot Project, co-funded by the European Union, that brings together public authorities, private companies, universities, and technology providers to test the use of the EUDI Wallet and EBW in a series of scenarios prior to their implementation in EU member states. The EU Digital Identity Wallet and the EU Business Wallet are designed to significantly simplify interactions between them. The use cases developed through WE BUILD relate to opening a bank account in another EU country, electronic invoicing, the representation of a company by authorized individuals, and the optimization of KYC (Know Your Customer) processes.

WE BUILD transforms digital identity into a facilitator of simpler, faster, and more secure business processes and payments in Europe. The General Assembly, organized in Romania at the initiative of Visa and Banca Transilvania, represents a new step toward achieving this common goal.
