BT Asset Management joins Animawings’ shareholding
BT Asset Management S.A.I. has joined AnimaWings (Anima Wings S.A.) shareholding structure at a time when the airline is accelerating its growth by expanding its fleet and increasing the number of domestic and international destinations.
The agreement was signed in Bucharest, at AnimaWings’ headquarters. The transaction will undergo the necessary review and approval processes by the Competition Council and the Commission for the Examination of Foreign Direct Investments. The transaction is being advised by Filip & Company and PwC Romania, with the involvement of a dedicated team from the Banca Transilvania Financial Group. The acquisition will be finalized upon receipt of the necessary approvals from the authorities.

AnimaWings, a national project
The partnership represents an investment in Romania, in a context where the private sector represents the engine of economic growth. The financial strength of BT Asset Management, combined with the airline’s operational experience and competitive advantages, will contribute to the development of a strong regional player and a national project.
AnimaWings will support Romania’s connectivity with European tourist and economic hubs, and help connect Romanians living abroad with their homeland. It will also help attract tourists and boost the development of the overall business environment.
AnimaWings’ Plans
Founded in 2020, AnimaWings is a 100% Romanian airline, developed within the Memento Group alongside tour operator Christian Tour. The current fleet comprises 7 modern Airbus aircraft, and the plan is to expand it to 14 by the end of 2027.
During the summer season, the company will operate 60 routes to 30 destinations, covering both domestic flights—between Bucharest and major regional economic hubs: Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Timișoara, and Oradea—and key European routes, such as London, Paris, Munich, Milan, Istanbul, Prague, Athens, Stockholm, and Geneva.
For BT Asset Management, the investment represents portfolio diversification and support for a strategic industry for Romania. BT Asset Management is the market leader in asset management both by assets under management, which exceed RON 10 billion, and by the number of investors, reaching approximately 475,000.
