BT expands contactless payment option via Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay to customers who have Mastercard card

Banca Transilvania extends the option of contactless payments with Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay for customers who have a BT Mastercard card. By enrolling cards in one of fitbit and compatible Garmin gadgets, customers have at their disposal an easy, handy way to shop.

BT is the first bank in Romania to launch this contactless payment alternative in November 2018.

Digital cards, enrolled in Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay, have all the functionalities of physical cards, such as paying for contactless purchases at merchants or contactless cash withdrawals from BT ATMs. Payments with Fitbit and Garmin devices also bring STAR or Mile Prize loyalty points to the shopping cards, respectively access to travel insurance for people who have Mastercard Gold or BT – OmniPass card.

5 steps to enroll your Mastercard BT cards in Garmin Pay or Fitbit Pay:

• Selecting the Garmin Pay option in the Garmin Devices section/accessing the wallet section of the Fitbit app;
• Setting a security code;
• Adding the BT card or, for Garmin Pay, scanning it using the phone's camera;
• Acceptance of the terms and conditions of use;
• Activate your card for payments through Garmin Pay/Fitbit Pay by entering the code received via SMS.

Banca Transilvania's customers now have at their disposal digital applications and options for all cards, both for the payment of purchases and for cash: the BT Pay wallet and payment accessories, Apple Pay for phone and smartwatch, respectively the Fibit Pay and Garmin Pay devices.
