- BT Pay has a new feature for managing and paying invoices
- More than 1 million utility bills were paid monthly in 2021 through bank payment alternatives
- 1.7 million people use BT Pay for everyday banking
BT Pay, the first banking and payments super-app in Romania, has a new option, Bill Payments. The new feature simplifies the management of invoices: it allows you to pay them both by logging in to the supplier's account and by scanning the invoices. Customers will be able to see in the app also the due invoices and the payment history.
Over 1 million utility bills were paid monthly this year through Banca Transilvania - via BT24, NeoBT, ATMs, payment machines and Direct Debit.
Through BT Pay, bills can be paid by logging into the bank's application from the utility provider's account or by scanning the bill. The facility has three types of options:
- Free: for payment of up to 4 utility bills/month with standard suppliers;
- Bills Plus: for payment of up to 8 utility bills/month. The subscription is 5 lei/month;
- Unlimited Bills: for an unlimited number of bill payments, meaning 15 lei/month.
"We complete the BT Pay super-app with an essential functionality that meets a basic need, the payment of utility bills. We are convinced that it will soon be one of the preferred options for paying bills. BT Pay is an experience in itself, with a whole online experience: digital card in app, contactless payments at merchants and online, P2P transfers, cardless ATM withdrawals, full online credit card issuance etc., and from now on, bills too .All in one place. Since its launch in 2018, BT Pay has shaped and changed behaviours, such as paying for purchases, which has increasingly shifted from physical cards to paying by phone, as well as how to transfer money using just your phone number," says Gabriela Nistor, Deputy General Manager Retail Banking, Banca Transilvania.
The Bill Pay option will be available gradually, first on iOS phones, and in the second half of November on Android phones.
BT Pay now has over 1.7 million users, +80% compared to the same period last year.
