BT, the only bank in Romania where customers can contactless withdraw money from the ATM with their phone

Transilvania Bank's customers can withdraw money from the ATM with their phone, through the BT Pay and Apple Payapplication. The option is also valid for customers who use contactless accessories from the BT Pay collection. A contactless alternative that the bank is also launching now is to withdraw cash from BT ATMs without inserting the card into the ATM.

"The world is changing and banking is changing. The volumes, the speed with which we do things have increased, and so have the demands of the customers. BT's figures show us that contactless payments are on the wave, so I'm sure the trend will be quickly adopted including for cash withdrawals from the ATM, especially with the phone. We are glad to be the first bank in Romania that brings customers contactless access to ATM and a totally new way to interact with the ATM, with technology" - says Ömer Tetik, General Manager, Banca Transilvania.

From the Android mobile phone, access to the money in the account is made through the BT Pay application, and from the one with the iOS operating system, through Apple Pay. It is necessary to approach the phone to the contactless sign on the ATM, authentication, after which you must follow the steps of a standard cash withdrawal from the ATM.

The contactless access to the ATM keeps for Banca Transilvania's clients all the functionalities of the ATMs so far, except for those of card activation and PIN personalization, for safety reasons.  The contactless options can be accessed at over 500 ATMs of Banca Transilvania, which are signposted contactless. By the end of the year most BT ATMs will have these functionalities.
