Banca Transilvania comes with new solutions that help Romanians living abroad to manage their money in different currencies and to bank from anywhere, anytime, through the BT Pay app:

• Receive the card physically, by courier, in Italy, Spain, Germany, UK and Moldova.
• Add cards issued by other banks or fintechs from over 30 countries to BT Pay.
• To fund your BT card from within the app by transferring money from other BT Pay-enrolled cards issued by banks and fintechs abroad or in Romania.

BT Pay is an accelerator for the financial connection of family members in different countries, as well as for the financial inclusion of Romanians abroad. The degree of financial inclusion in Romania was 71% in 2024, according to the Romanian Banking Association and the Romanian Institute for Evaluation and Strategy.

The BT Pay current account opening functionality with instant digital card, launched in January 2024, has so far brought Banca Transilvania a considerable number of new customers, approximately 100,000, including Romanians from 26 countries.

BT Pay users have access to all the app's everyday banking options immediately after opening their account and have the option to choose one of BT's current account Subscriptions. Most services associated with the current account and debit card are free, including receiving the card in other countries. The fee is zero for transfers in lei or other currencies between people using BT Pay, as well as for payments with the BT digital or physical card, abroad or in Romania.

For Romanians abroad, the bank has a dedicated Call Center team (+40264 303 003, contact@btrl.ro). They can also consult information on the Întreb Întreb BT website, a financial education platform which, in 2024, was visited from abroad mainly from Germany, the UK, Italy, Spain, France and the Republic of Moldova.
