BT connects the diaspora with Romania through an online banking shopping campaign

Banca Transilvania is bringing the diaspora closer to Romania through its first online banking campaign dedicated to Romanians living abroad, titled “Home is wherever you feel it can be.” The campaign is running exclusively on the bank’s website from June 16 to 30.

Inspired by the lifestyle of Romanians living abroad—some of Banca Transilvania’s most digitally savvy customers—the campaign offers simple and fast financial solutions that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. These solutions make it easier to manage money and stay financially connected with family in Romania.

Banking solutions, benefits, and rewards

Current and prospective customers of Banca Transilvania can access a range of products and services designed to support financial mobility, which may include benefits and rewards such as:

  • Open an account online via BT Pay—with 5% cashback on payments, up to 100 euros;
  • Mortgage loans for residential properties in Romania – no application fee;
  • Virtual cards in euros and dollars, issued through BT Pay – can earn you 10 double invitations to Nibiru;
  • Designated cardholder card, issued via BT Pay – discount on UNTOLD tickets;
  • Home insurance through BT Pay, with comprehensive coverage and 15% cashback;
  • BT Pay Kiddo – 10% cashback and prizes awarded through a random drawing;
  • Memberships for the Regina Maria Health Network, offering a 40% discount on tests, diagnostic procedures, and consultations, as well as access to telemedicine services.

Most of these solutions are fully accessible through the BT Pay app, which is the preferred choice among Romanians living abroad for opening a bank account. The app recorded a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 86 (out of 100), one of the highest NPS scores in BT’s customer satisfaction surveys in 2025 and 2026.BT’

s for the diaspora

In addition to its remote banking solutions, the Banca Transilvania Group has over 600 branches in Romania, Italy, and the Republic of Moldova. It has also launched the BT for Diaspora platform, which offers solutions for everyday banking, money management tips, news and articles on macroeconomics, information on online security, as well as access to the FIT financial education program—Finance for Everyone.

The campaign launched today is one of the initiatives through which Banca Transilvania is bringing itself closer to Romanians everywhere.
