Overdraft 100% online via BT Pay app

01 February 2022 Reading time 2:00 minutes

  • New BT Pay functionality means access to a credit line of up to 25,000 lei
  • Overdraft can be obtained without a trip to the bank
  • The launch offer for people applying through BT Pay is a fixed interest rate of 8%/year

People banking through BT Pay have a new feature, 100% online overdraft. This means the possibility to apply through BT Pay and receive in your current account, in about 10 minutes, a credit line of up to 25.000 lei. The new option is available gradually in BT Pay, starting today.

Overdraft means money that customers can have on any of BT's debit cards for individuals - Visa Classic, Mastercard Mondo or Mastercard Gold Debit - and that can be obtained without trips to the bank. This is available after electronic signature of documents and can be accessed immediately, directly by phone or via the physical card, for purchases or transfers.

The launch offer for people applying through BT Pay is a fixed interest rate of 8%/year, which is calculated according to the amount used from the credit. Each replenishment of the current account means partial repayment of the credit, and the analysis and administration fee is zero.

To obtain an overdraft, only a few steps are required: validation of the identity card and contact details, filling in the information specific to the credit line, signing the income consultation agreement with ANAF and electronic signature of the contract for the credit line.

In BT Pay, customers have at their fingertips all the information about the overdraft and the cards they can access it with: balance, amount spent and available credit, interest rate, card data, transactions made, offers, and for online payments they can confirm the transaction directly from their phone.

The Overdraft is intended for Romanian citizens with salary income reported to ANAF and who have been working for at least three months with the same employer. For the online version, the bank takes into account the income category by which it can offer the product most quickly to a significant number of customers, namely salary. People with various incomes - salaries, dividends, rents, pensions, etc. - can apply for overdraft in Banca Transilvania's units.

The new functionality comes after Banca Transilvania launched the Star Forte card 100% online last year and complements BT's plan to constantly launch remote banking solutions that allow application and access from BT Pay to all basic products.
