Banca Transilvania launches, for merchants, BTePOS.ro, an online hub with complete solutions for accepting electronic payments

Banca Transilvania launches BTePOS.ro,a platform through which merchants can order everything they need to offer customers the possibility to pay by card, by phone or online.

BTePOS.ro is an online store with electronic payment acceptance products. On the hub, customized solutions are also presented according to the industries: for example, a merchant who has a café and wants to offer customers the possibility to pay by card or phone through the BT Pay and Apple Pay applications or with the BT payment accessories,through BTePOS.ro can order what he needs to increase his sales: Fixed/mobile POS, eCommerce, Star loyalty program (loyalty rates and points), table card payment, etc.

Traders can order through the BTePOS platform: 

• Mobile and fixed POS: acceptance for payment of Visa/ Mastercard / American Express cards, solutions for accepting payments with loyalty points, in interest-free installments with STAR cards and Direct Card;
• BT table card acceptance solution;
• Solution for processing, by BT, transactions on unassisted systems: vending machines, parking meters, charity box, etc.;
• eCommerce solutions for online stores: acceptance for payment of Visa / Mastercard cards, respectively acceptance of payments with loyalty points or in interest-free installments with STAR cards.

Requests sent online, through BTePOS, go directly to the BT customer service manager in the county where the trader has its registered office, therefore it is no longer necessary to go to the bank. BT handles free of charge the formalities, the implementation of the chosen payment solutions, as well as the training of the company's employees.

• More than 30,000 merchants and 50,000 physical locations and online stores benefit from BT's acceptance services.
• 12,000 merchants are part of the STARloyalty program, intended for BT customers who have a shopping card. Currently, over 500,000 individuals and legal entities have a STAR card.

On average, 10 transactions are made with Banca Transilvania's cards every second, and the volumes of shopping transactions with cards increased by over 50% in 2019 compared to 2018. Over 80% of shopping transactions at POS with BT cards are contactless.

Banca Transilvania has recently reached the milestone of 4 million cards issued and is the largest card issuer in the country since 2017, with a market share of over 22%.
