Customers can bank with OTP Bank Romania until February 28, 12.00. OTP cards work until March 1, 9.30 p.m.
Banca Transilvania and OTP Bank Romania are proactively announcing information of interest to OTP Bank Romania customers regarding access to OTP Bank services and products from February 28 to March 2, 2025. During this period, technical operations regarding the merger of the two banks are being carried out.
The concern of Banca Transilvania and OTP Bank is that the migration has as little impact as possible on customers.
Details on access to services and products :
- February 28 (12.00 noon) is the date until which customers will be able to bank with OTP Bank Romania, in units or through apps.
- March 1 (21.30) is the date until which OTP Bank Romania cards will be working.
- Starting March 2 (7.00 am), OTP Bank Romania customers will be able to use Banca Transilvania cards that replace OTP Bank cards - both physical and digital (debit), through the BT Pay application.
- Starting March 3rd, OTP Bank Romania customers will be able to use Banca Transilvania's services and products.
BT recommendations for OTP Bank Romania customers until the merger:
- Download the BT Pay app, through which BT debit cards can be used from 7am on Sunday, March 2, inclusive, before taking possession of your physical BT card.
- BT card takeover: if you haven't already done so, we are waiting for you to take over the BT card that will replace your current OTP Bank card. It can be picked up from the BT/OTP Bank branch or agency where you are already waiting, which you can find out in several ways.
- Activate your BT card at any ATM of Banca Transilvania.
- Cash insurance, in case you need it on the night of March 1/2, 2025, between 9:30 p.m. March 1 - 7:00 a.m. March 2.
- Maximum vigilance to all messages received during this period. There is a risk that malicious people may try to imitate BT/OTP Bank Romania's communication through different channels for possible fraud. The bank will never ask for information such as bank account details, login details, card details, etc., nor will it ask for transfers/payments, personal/banking details to be completed by accessing links, nor will it ask for applications to be downloaded that allow remote control of your phone/laptop.
