BT, part of the syndicate of banks lending 3.1 billion lei to Electrica Group

Banca Transilvania, one of the largest lenders to the energy sector in Romania, has successfully finalized, as Mandated Joint Lead Arranger, the coordination of a syndicated loan of RON 3.1 billion for Societatea Energetică Electrica and its subsidiaries, Distribuție Energie Electrica Romania and Electrica Furnizare.
The purpose of the loan is to partially refinance loans and to support investment plans in energy infrastructure and the development of the renewable energy production portfolio.
The banks participating in the syndicate, together with Banca Transilvania, are Banca Comercială Română - Coordinating Mandated Lead Arranger, Lender, Structuring and Documentation Agent, Facility Agent; Raiffeisen Bank - Lender, Sustainability Agent; BRD - Groupe Société Générale - Lender; CEC Bank - Lender; ING Bank - Lender and Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Romania - Lender.

The law firms providing legal assistance to the transaction were RTPR (for the banks) and Dentons (for the Electrica Group), and the sustainability composition was structured with the support of Raiffeisen Bank.
