BT Pay helps to shape new behaviours: shopping, transfers and donations by phone

Transilvania Bank's figures show that BT Pay has contributed to the formation of new behaviors this year – contactless shopping at merchants, money transfers and donations, all by phone.

• The number of phone payments tripled in 2020 compared to 2019, reaching 4 million purchases / month with the phone, at the end of this year.
  
  
• More and more money transfers are made through the application: their number quadrupled in 2020 compared to 2019, reaching 1.3 million / month, at the end of the year.
  
  
• Over 100,000 cards were first used in digital format, through BT Pay, before those customers took possession of the physical card. Customers can open an online account and digitally add the card to the app before they receive it physically. 
  
  
• Over 12,000 donations were made through BT Pay, within eight months through the application to 12 foundations and organizations with which Banca Transilvania collaborates. BT launched the Donations by phone option in April .c. to support efforts against the pandemic, thus giving customers the most handy option to make donations over the phone. The most recent social cause that Banca Transilvania joined – this time, together with the Simona Halep Foundation – was Help the children most affected by the pandemic,initiated by SOS Children's Villages Romania. BT and the foundation donated 50,000 euros, and the bank doubled each donation made through BT Pay and through the bank's website for two weeks, in December .c., so that over 130,000 euros were raised that will help 450 needy children to have decent living conditions.

Over 1 million people use BT Pay for their daily banking – from contactless payments at merchants, money transfers, card management, online shopping confirmation, to the possibility to withdraw money from the ATM without the need for a physical card.
