Working with a new bank means a new IBAN (International Bank Account Number) for your current account. If you are an OTP Bank customer, you will be able to use the BT IBAN as of March 3, 2025, since the merger Banca Transilvania - OTP Bank Romania will take place at the end of February 2025.

Security of money and personal data

The IBAN is needed for money transfers at home and abroad. For example, if you need to receive money, the person making the payment needs to know your IBAN and your name.

If you need to receive money, you're doing the right thing by sending the IBAN. But never send personal card details (name, number, expiry date, PIN, CVV2/CVC).
