280,000 people tested their knowledge about digital dangers on Banca Transilvania's Online Safety platform in February-August 2025, with a record 12,000 participants/day. Within six months, the quiz was completed 365,000 times.
Most challenges were generated by questions on the following topics:
- What information is needed to receive money in the account?
Correct answer: the IBAN and the name of the recipient.
- What should you do if you receive a message/call from a bank employee asking you to install a remote device control application such as AnyDesk/Team View?
Correct response and action: do not accept the request, end the call and notify BT of the fraud attempt on 0264 30 80 55.
- What should you do if you are called by a person claiming to be from the bank and asking for your personal/banking information under the pretext of updating your details to avoid blocking access to your account?
Correct response and action: I do not comply with the request, end the conversation and notify BT on 0264 30 80 55 of the attempted fraud.
Online safety quiz is still open to everyone. Platform Online safety of Banca Transilvania offers digital and financial education resources for fraud prevention, to learn how to protect yourself in such situations and to develop appropriate behavior.
