Master's degree in the trades of the future: Data Science for Industry and Society

The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca launches the Master's program Data Science for Industry and Societywhich prepares students for the jobs of the future, offering them the possibility to obtain technical certifications that are highly sought after on the labour market. The courses start in October this year, with the academic year 2022-2023. The best students will be able to access the paid internship program within Banca Transilvania.

In developing the programme, Babes-Bolyai University is supported by two of its partners: SAS - the global leader in Advanced Analytics solutions and Banca Transilvania - the largest bank in Romania. Together they aim to train specialists in the field of data engineering and contribute to the development of the Romanian IT ecosystem by increasing competences in advanced data analysis and data science according to the European Qualifications Framework.

Master's details:

• It is aimed at both recent college graduates and professionals who wish to have skills in data collection, processing and interpretation in organizations.
  
  
• The programme's innovative curriculum contributes to the development of information analysis skills with specific Artificial Intelligence tools in real data projects coordinated by experts from academia and industry.
  
  
• The program includes two SAS specializations, Advanced Analytics and Data Science, and offers the opportunity to obtain highly sought-after industry certifications such as Visual Business Analytics, Statistical Business Analyst, SAS Programming Specialist, Machine Learning Specialist or Nature Language Processing and Computer Vision.
  
  
• The study programme is offered in English, over two years and with numerous opportunities for internships at Banca Transilvania, but also at other players in the field.

UBB comes to this endeavor with an innovative degree program that capitalizes on the experience of the largest Artificial Intelligence PhD school in Romania and a leading ecosystem in information technology, and SAS opens access to an innovative academic program through SAS Academic Programs.
