The Banca Transilvania Group announces, with deep regret, the passing of Mr. Victor Țurcan, one of the founders of Victoriabank and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.

He was a visionary and a trailblazer in the banking system of the Republic of Moldova, playing a significant role in the establishment of Victoriabank (1989), the first commercial bank in the neighboring country.

For 35 years, he contributed through his vision and dedication to the development of Victoriabank, now part of the Banca Transilvania Group and one of the largest banks in the Republic of Moldova. He was a mentor and consummate professional who remained, until the very end, deeply connected to Victoriabank.

He is the protagonist of the book *The Explorer*, written by Serghei Evstratiev and published in the Republic of Moldova (2012).

Just a few days ago, he was working on a book about the bank and his life, which he hoped to launch on his 78th birthday.

His passing is a great loss for the BT Group, for Victoriabank, and for the financial and banking sector in the Republic of Moldova, as well as for all those who knew him.
