BT, new Black Friday records. 11 million transactions in a single day

On Black Friday, November 7, 2025, Banca Transilvania set new records for transactions through its payments ecosystem, including cards, apps, POS and ATMs.
BT is the leading payment processor in Romania, due to the size of its business and the significant volume of transactions handled through its channels. With an extensive and scalable digital infrastructure, the bank supports the growth of online and physical commerce, ensuring the flow of transactions even at peak times such as Black Friday.
Banca Transilvania's records:
- 11 million transactions were completed in a single day, +14% compared to Black Friday 2024.
- Over 700,000 transactions per hour were recorded for nine consecutive hours (between 8.00-17.00).
- With over 1 million trades, the golden hour was between 9.00 and 10.00.
- 230 transactions through BT was every second of Black Friday, with a high of over 500.
- +17% more online installment purchases compared to Black Friday 2024.
The biggest BT card purchases on Black Friday were premium purchases from cars, watches and furniture.
BT Pay:
Through the BT Pay app, customers benefit from features that ensure fast payments and simplified card management, including instant card issuance and changing transaction limits. Compared to Black Friday 2024, the number of transactions made through Pay with BT Pay has quadrupled, with this functionality now available on 30,000 partner sites.

Banca Transilvania has an entire ecosystem built around cards, including the STAR program, the BT Pay application, the eCommerce processing platform(BTeComm), partnerships with merchants, an extensive network of POS and ATMs.
