Banca Transilvania has integrated new RoPay features into the BT Pay app, expanding the number of modern and simple transfer solutions available directly from the app, without the need to use bank details such as IBAN.
The implementation of the new features comes after Banca Transilvania joined the RoPay national payment system last year, making it easier for individual customers to make transactions by scanning a QR code or sending money using only their phone number, through RoPay Alias. These options are now complemented by the following features:
- Scanning QR codes at POS or cash registers – for payments in supermarkets or at various retailers;
- Scanning displayed QR codes – for payments on buses, at small retailers, in parking lots, etc.;
- Submitting a payment request based on the phone number and making the payment after receiving it;
- E-commerce payments by phone using your phone number or deep link.
The new features are available in the "Accounts" menu in the BT Pay app, under "More," and can only be used in the bank's app, without using the phone's camera.
RoPay Community
The RoPay national payment system is developed by TRANSFOND, in partnership with the Romanian Banking Association. To implement these features, Banca Transilvania collaborated with Montran, a company with which it has had a partnership for over 20 years.
Through developments carried out together with its partners and other banks in the RoPay community, Banca Transilvania contributes to the evolution of the national instant payment system, which simplifies transfers between participating banks and offers customers a modern and fast experience.
