BT supports what's next, a vocational guidance program and platform for students

Interactive platform now available for students, parents, teachers and school counselors what's nextdedicated to career counseling and guidance. Here, they can discover ways to capitalize on the skills and interests of children and young people in their educational and career choices.

The platform is part of the pilot project of the same name, developed in the school year 2024-2025, by Save the Children Organization and the Bucharest Centre for Educational Resources and Assistance (CMBRAE), with the support of Banca Transilvania.

The project brings the following benefits:

• Expanding access to quality vocational counseling (over 2,000 pupils and 200 parents participating);
• Training specialists involved in guidance and counseling (over 70 so far);
• Developing modern means of information;
• Forming a framework for learning about self-awareness, personal development, self-awareness (strengths, skills, qualifications and qualities, limitations, needs, aspirations and personal values, managing emotions, communication, negotiation, personal branding, learning, teamwork, exploring learning and market opportunities, decision making, etc.
  
  

In order to measure the impact of the pilot project, from June 16 to July 1, 2025, Save the Children and CMBRAE conducted an online consultation among the students participating in the program, and the results are as follows:

• The percentage of students optimistic about their careers rose from 45% to 54.3%.
• The awareness of career guidance and counseling increased from 67.5% to 88.7% among all students, with the highest increase among 7th graders.
• Actual participation in Career Guidance and Counseling activities increased from 23.6% to 78.3%.
• The proportion of students who had heard about career guidance and counseling but did not participate in the program fell drastically (from 38.5% to 5.3%).
