The contemporary architecture of the BT Headquarters, awarded at BNA

The modern architecture of the Transylvania Bank's headquarters in Cluj-Napoca has been awarded at the most important competition in Romania, the National Architecture Biennale, in the Office Buildings section. It was praised for the beauty, innovation and functionality of the architecture, providing a healthy workspace and supporting responsible urban development.

Banca Transilvania will have its headquarters at Calea Dorobanților 30-36 from January 2021. It covers an area of 38,000 square meters, has almost 1,400 offices, 30 meeting rooms, an amphitheater, a café, restaurant, underground parking for cars and bicycles, as well as a charging station for electric cars.

Minimalist design and green technologies

The Transylvania Bank building stands out for its combination of textures and materials, from wood-look concrete to Visstea stone. The color scheme is neutral, with dominant shades of gray, cream and brown.

The building has received BREEAM Outstanding certification, the highest standard of sustainability and efficiency, achieved, at the time of certification (July 2022), by just under 3% of BREEAM certified buildings globally.

Banca Transilvania collaborated with LAMINA, QMEC, Mossfern, Fragmentum, Kesz Romania, MIMO Group, GEI-MEP and IMSAT Cluj for the construction and fitting out of the building.

Promoting Romanian architecture

The National Biennale of Architecture is organized by the Union of Romanian Architects. It brings together architects, urban planners, designers and visionaries who promote Romanian architecture.

With more than 30 years of tradition, BNA comprises almost 20 categories, including Housing Architecture, Community and Leisure Social and Commercial Architecture, Restoration and Consolidation, Interior Architecture, Ephemeral Architecture, Ephemeral Architecture, Rural Architecture, Architectural Education, Publications, Photography, Architectural Film, etc.

"Otherwise"

The 2025 edition of the National Architecture Biennale had the theme "Other" and brought together a record number of projects, more than 1,000: buildings, publications, architectural photographs and films, as well as visionary projects.
