The Star cards issued by Banca Transilvania, part of the loyalty program of the same name, have a new design, developed in collaboration with Brandient and Idemia.
The Star programme was launched in 2011, when Banca Transilvania had 150,000 credit cards in its portfolio and Star had around 700 partner stores. The programme now has more than 640,000 shopping cards and 25,000 partner locations, with 70% of the cards in digital format on the BT Pay app.
"The new design recognizes the importance of the Star programme to everyone involved - both BT Shopping Card customers and partner merchants. Star has been instrumental in the growth of the bank's card business and in radically changing the payment behavior of Star customers, with over 96% of transactions now being purchases," said Oana IlaČ™, Deputy General Manager Retail Banking, Banca Transilvania.
What are the benefits for customers with Star cards:
- Interest-free instalment purchases at more than 25,000 partner stores, both physical and online; the maximum number of instalments is 24, depending on the store.
- Accumulation of Star points on the card for every full payment made with the card for purchases in the country and abroad; one Star point equals one RON;
- Possibility to use Star points for purchases in affiliated shops;
- Access to a loan on the card of up to five times your monthly income;
- Exclusive offers from Star partner shops promoted on the BT Pay app.
Star Ecosystem
The Star programme has become an ecosystem that covers all of Banca Transilvania's card activities, both in terms of issuing and card acceptance solutions. Star is constantly developing new features that are progressively available in partner online stores and that change the online shopping experience, the latest being Pay with Star points directly in the online shop and Pay with BT Pay, which redirects the user to the app where they can see the payment details and authorize the transaction with one of the BT cards in BT Pay, without having to manually enter the card details on the merchant's website.
