Banca Transilvania, the first 25 years. Top management message

25 years ago, without pomp, but with a lot of courage and with a capital of 2 million dollars, 46 entrepreneurs laid the foundations of one of the most successful stories of romanian capital development – Banca Transilvania, today, the largest financial group in Romania, with over 31,000 shareholders.

With entrepreneurship in THE DNA, through work, enthusiasm and investment in people, technology and infrastructure, during this time BT has grown, from a team of 13 people to a financial group with over 10,000 employees in 500 units, in over 180 localities in three countries. From the first client to over 3 million customers, of which 700,000 are credited. From the first operation to over 2 million operations that take place daily through the bank. From the first entrepreneurial client, to the creation of the largest ecosystem to support SMEs in Romania. And in moments of crossroads, the bank reinvented itself, adapted and moved on.

Development - this is the word that best describes the evolution of BT: we have grown from year to year as a bank, as a number of financed customers, in terms of number of employees, but especially as unique skills in financing the national economy, having today equity of 1.5 billion euros. We wanted and managed to become one of the pillars on which Romania's development is supported and we know that we have responsibility towards depositors and society.

We finance hospitals, factories, schools, state and private universities, dams and hydrocentres, highways and veterinary offices, but also hundreds of thousands of people. We support as many plans and dreams of the Romanians. We are the largest institutional financier of the State through taxes and government securities, as well as of the Romanian business environment. We do this with capital and because of the skills accumulated in the 25 years, here in our country.

That's just the beginning. The story goes on.
