Bogdan PleșuvescuDeputy General Manager of BT, represented the bank at the conference "The financial-banking market", organized by the publication Bursain Bucharest, in May this year, where the following statements were made:
- Private companies in our country have become more resilient since the global financial crisis more than 15 years ago.
- All the evidence and data that we analyze at the level of Banca Transilvania's portfolio show that, after the 2007-2008 crisis, a tested and very well implemented resilience system has been developed at the level of private companies in Romania, which is still working very well today.
- We see that this resilience to constant changes in the market over the last five years has created much stronger companies.
- Small and medium-sized companies, benefiting from this resilience, have further developed their capacities, learned to diversify their product portfolio, the customers they target, and to stop being so dependent on state contracts and go into a competitive market so as to develop their service area.
- Discussions with industry colleagues suggest that this situation is similar in other credit institutions across the country.
- Despite the challenges brought by the COVID crisis, the energy crisis, inflation and war, no significant increase in non-performing loan portfolios has been observed in Banca Transilvania's portfolio or in those of other banks.
