● Shopping goes ... watch ●
Banca Transilvania, together with Mondaine, OT-Morpho and Mastercard, launches the contactless BT watch,a new payment instrument that can replace the card when shopping, in the country and abroad. For the first time, the contactless watch will be presented at Techsylvania, one of the most representative events in Eastern Europe, dedicated to technology and innovation enthusiasts, organized between June 17th and 20th, .c., in Cluj-Napoca.
The watches are Swiss, the Mondainebrand, and for the contactless BT variant there are three models available: Classic-Ladies, Clasic-Men and Premium-Unisex. The watch can be ordered online,on the BT website or in any of the Transylvania Bank's offices and is also received at BT, where the contactless card is activated, which will be inserted into the watch belt. Depending on the model, the cost is between 1,090 and 1,690 lei - about 300 euros.
The watch works on the basis of contactless technology, launched for the first time in Romania by MasterCard, which allows users to pay faster and safer. The launch of the contactless watch is part of Mastercard's policy to increase the acceptance rate of contactless technology among Romanians and to provide them with a diverse ecosystem of payment systems.
Details:
- The contactless BT watch works as a bank card through access to the current account in lei opened at Banca Transilvania. It can be ordered by Transilvania Bank's customers who have a debit card in RON or, as the case may be, the card can be received together with the clock.
- For contactless clock payments at merchants, the commission is zero.
- For payments up to 100 lei or equivalent, the PIN is not required.
- People who are not BT customers and want a contactless watch must have a current account at Banca Transilvania, an account that can be opened even online.
- BT is the market leader based on the volumes generated by its own cards, 20% higher in 2016 compared to the previous year.
In 2016, Banca Transilvania marked another premiere on the market of alternative payment instruments, by launching the contactless bracelet. In addition, the facilities of payment machines, the option of opening a bank account online, authentication by single password for online transactions with the card or the Livia robot - the new channel of interaction with customers using Facebook Messenger or Skype are some of the projects through which Banca Transilvania is increasingly oriented towards digital solutions, in order to give customers and employees comfort and mobility.
The story of the contactless clock project can be watched on the BT Blog.
Transilvania Bank's partners in this project are Mondaine, Oberthur Technologies and Mastercard. Mondaine is a famous Swiss brand of watches. Their design was inspired by that of the Swiss railway station watch, and in 1986 an entire collection was launched. Oberthur Technologies is a leader in payment security services and solutions for banks and financial institutions, present all over the world. MasterCard,a technology provider in the global payment industry, present in over 210 countries and territories, is the initiator of contactless technology in Romania.
