100,000 people have chosen to invest in Pensia Mea from BT Pensii

BT Pensii reached the milestone of 100.000 participants in the optional pension fund Pensia Mea
In 2024, the number of participants in this pension fund was 86% higher than in 2023, representing the largest increase in the Romanian optional pensions’ market.
The value of monthly contributions to the Pensia Mea fund has doubled over the last year and reached RON 9 million in December 2024, up from RON 4.45 million in December 2023. BT Pensii assets totaled RON 290 million in 2024, +33% compared to 2023.
2024 was the best year for BT Pensii' business, with growth rates across all areas. The largest number of Romanians who started saving through an optional pension fund last year chose Pensia Mea, more than 44,000, representing 36% of all those who joined the Pillar III Voluntary Pensions in 2024. By diversifying the savings options, we are supporting the future in Romania of those who work and save today, being thus better prepared for tomorrow.

Most people who start saving through Pensia Mea, namely 47%, are aged between 35 and 49, and 26% between 20 and 34. In both cases, the average monthly contribution surpass RON 100. A fifth of pension fund participants also benefit from employer contributions.
A person can benefit from the amount accumulated in the Pensia Mea fund after the age of 60, in addition to the state pension and the mandatory private pension (Pillar II). The minimum contribution is RON 60 /month and the maximum is 15% of gross monthly income, which can be changed at any time.
Part of the Banca Transilvania Group, BT Pensii is the only Romanian company on the optional pensions market.
There are 4.57 million retirees in Romania, with an average net pension of RON 2,803. The number of participants in private pension funds has passed the 9 million milestone, of which more than 8.28 million people contribute to the Pillar II mandatory private pensions and more than 830,000 to Pillar III voluntary pensions.
