Premiere in Romania: BT launches contactless bracelet

Banca Transilvania launches, for the first time on the Romanian market, an alternative payment instrument, the contactless BT bracelet, which can replace the card when paying for purchases. It provides access to the current account in RON opened at BT and the possibility to pay contactless, regardless of the amount, in the country and abroad. The fee for issuing and paying at merchants is zero.

Contactless payments have become very popular in Romania with the increase in the number of POS accepting such cards. At 80% of the 27,000 POS of Transilvania Bank located at merchants, such payments can be made – with the contactless card and, more recently, including with the contactless bracelets.

Details:

• The bracelets function as a contactless bank card, so for payments up to 100 lei it is not necessary to enter the PIN;
• They can be issued to Transilvania Bank's clients who have a VISA debit card in RON or, as the case may be, together with such a card;
• Customers can request such a bracelet in any of the bank's branches and agencies;
• The monthly subscription is only 3 lei / bracelet;
• For starters, the stock is 3,000 contactless bracelets.

UNTOLD Festival, which takes place in Cluj-Napoca, on August 4th – 7th, an event where BT is the official bank, is one of the first occasions when contactless bracelets can be used. With their help – but also with cash or bank card – festival bracelets and festival cards can be loaded at UNTOLD, in Credit Point locations.
