Banca Transilvania acquired Idea::Bank and the other companies with the IDEA brand in Romania

• Idea::Bank is the third bank acquired by Banca Transilvania.

Banca Transilvania has completed the acquisition of the shares held by the Polish group Getin Holding in Idea::Bank, Idea::Leasing and Idea::Insurance Broker. BT announced the signing of the acquisition agreement in June a.c., and recently received the approvals necessary to complete the transaction from the National Bank of Romania and the Competition Council.

The current Idea::Bank will become a hub of digital banking, surpassing the sphere of traditional banks. All three entities currently known under the Idea brand will have new corporate identities. The positive impact in the economy and society of the acquisition Idea::Bank is the contribution to the consolidation of the banking industry and the repositioning of the bank as a digital platform, with the ESG agenda on all levels.

The omni-channel ecosystem of Banca Transilvania integrates the advantages of the traditional branch with online banking. 67% of the total clients - 2.3 million - are digitized, currently using at least one of the bank's digital solutions – applications, Internet Banking or Mobile Banking.

Idea::Bank is the third bank acquired by Banca Transilvania, after Bancpost (2018) and Volksbank Romania (2015).
