Banca Transilvania launches a new online banking shopping campaign, Be a STAR card scorerinspired by football and especially Lionel Messi's performances. On 18 February this year, the match starts at 9.00 am and ends at 11.59 pm, and two of BT customers' favourite products will take the field for discounted access: the STAR Forte shopping card and the personal loan in lei.

The campaign's shopping rounds include the following:  

• Striker package: STAR Forte card (zero issuing fee and 100 bonus STAR points) + Personal Needs Credit in lei (7.49% interest instead of 10.5%);
• Hat-Trick package: STAR Forte card (zero issue fee) + official Adidas game ball;
• Free Kick package: STAR Forte card (zero issue fee, 150 bonus STAR points) + 15% discount at Hervis stores;
• 50% discount on Adrian Mutu's retirement match (Sports Festival, Team Romania vs Team World, 13 June 2020, BT Arena, Cluj-Napoca).

Lionel Messi is the star of the latest BT & Mastercard advert promoting the STAR card, which was launched in January this year. Shopping with the card is rewarding because it earns customers loyalty points (STAR), which can be used for other purchases and also for shopping at over 12,000 retailers.

More than 500,000 STAR shopping cards are in Romanians' pockets or on their phones, enrolled in BT Pay and Apple Pay apps.

In 2019, Banca Transilvania granted more than 100,000 personal loans for a wide range of plans, such as refinancing, home improvement, holidays or car purchase.
