Carrefour Romania and BT Direct launch Card Direct from Carrefour, with financing on the spot and 5% money back on the card

Carrefour Romania and BT Direct, the consumer finance division of Banca Transilvania Financial Group, launch a new shopping card with extra benefits in Carrefour stores. With the new Carrefour Direct Card, a person can obtain on-the-spot financing and, subsequently, 5% of the value of purchases made by full payment in Carrefour stores and online on Carrefour.ro. Carrefour Romania and BT Direct thus offer a simple way of on-the-spot financing, allowing customers to purchase all the products on their shopping list and at the same time optimise their budget by receiving a part of the amount spent.

The Card is available to all Carrefour customers and can be obtained in Carrefour hypermarkets through a simplified procedure. The user benefits from on-the-spot financing of up to 40,000 lei and 5% cash back on the card for any subsequent purchase, made by paying in full with the Carrefour Direct Card in multiformat physical stores (hypermarket, supermarket, express stores and Supeco) and through the online channel, Carrefour.ro. At the same time, the card can be used at any merchant, including for full payment of bills, but the 5% cash back benefit on the card is exclusive to Carrefour, and the percentage returned to other merchants is 2%.

With the new Carrefour Card Direct, customers can make purchases in stores or online, with 0% interest during the grace period of up to 55 days; contactless payments for purchases up to 100 lei; mobile payments via the BT Pay app, as well as cash withdrawals. Moreover, the card also allows interest-free instalment payments directly at the POS. Another advantage is that instalments can be made on purchases from anywhere in the country or abroad, from any physical or online shop, with full payment. At a minimum of 500 lei spent, the transaction can be divided into 3 interest-free instalments or between 4 and 36 instalments, with only 1% monthly interest, through the Rate Anywhere program, and the benefit can be activated by SMS.

Last but not least, the card comes with multiple options for repayment:

• at BT Express ATMs of Banca Transilvania;
• through the Paypoint system, at any payment terminal;
• through the Pago application, installed on the phone;
• by interbank transfer;
• by predefined payment order via BT24 Internet Banking or Mobile Banking.
