The story of eJobs, one of the partners of BT Store, an online hub with complementary banking solutions for entrepreneurs
The main challenge, when we launched the platform almost 20 years ago: changing the mindset of candidates and employers
The careers of many began or changed by turning to eJobs. The leader of the online recruitment market in Romania has an interesting story, and more recently he is one of The Transylvania Bank's partners in a unique project in Romania, dedicated to entrepreneurs. Let's find out the details and what is the connection between BT and eJobs!
How eJobs started... Career
Almost 20 years ago, a group of Romanian entrepreneurs - Liviu Dumitrascu and Lucian Despoiu, who were joined by Horia Nistor and Daniel Tatar - launched the first online recruitment platform, eJobs. The idea was going to change definitively the way in which recruitment was done in our country: online, simple, fast, out of the box. Back then, the labor market was going through a moment of upheaval, unemployment was high, recruitment methods were classic.
Instead, something appeared on the horizon, which would change everything, even if the transition to the new way of communication and information was not easy: the Internet. "The main challenge was to change the mindset, both for the candidates and for the employers. They all had to go from the traditional methods of recruitment and employment – recommendations from friends, newspaper ads, flyers, at best – to those that required a certain familiarity with the digital environment. Then, we had to earn their trust because, in the end, both of them and others, they leave on our hands a very important process – that of employment. It is one of the most delicate transitions for a candidate, and for companies it is an investment that always requires a lot of resources" - said Bogdan Badea, CEO of eJobs Group.
The platform has gradually developed, and since 2012 it is part of the Ringier group. eJobs started with a small team, which has gradually grown and which today counts about 80 people in the area of sales, development, support, marketing and content. On eJobs there are almost 4 million CVs, more than 2 million unique users every month and over 1,500 CVs updated daily.
How eJobs grew up in his career
eJobs, besides being a pioneer in terms of online recruitment, has constantly come up with premieres that are related to facilities for candidates and companies, as well as to highly targeted projects, such as:
- The First Job platform, which is addressed to young people who are at the beginning of their careers, who have not worked at all or for a short period of time. On primul-job.ro they find jobs selected exclusively for the entry level area, but also a survival guide at the beginning of their career, with tips and recommendations on how to make a CV, how to present themselves at the interview or how to find the job that would suit them best;
- Online facilities that are constantly being upgraded, such as: the possibility for employers to set the exact location of the job and to look for jobs according to this criterion; appointment for the interview; filtering with maximum accuracy the information about the candidates and the jobs presented on the site;
- Direct telephone line (021.9124) for skilled and unskilled workers, unemployed, people in the stage of professional retraining;
- Recently, eJobs launched the first salary comparator in Romania, available on www.paylab.ro.
eJobs: The labor market is at a maximum of dynamism and effervescence
With an unemployment rate at the minimum threshold of the last 20 years, we are facing a crisis that employers are struggling to overcome through increasingly complex and sophisticated employer branding and empolyee entricity programs. The battle for talent is huge. As far as employees are concerned, they are much more informed, much more aware of the opportunities they have and have no reluctance to ask for what they know or think is best for them. On the other hand, this change of mentality and approach can only lead to an evolution of the market, an evolution that was needed" - adds Bogdan Badea.
eJobs, in 3 digits
If we were to describe eJobs in 3 digits, the most important of these are the following:
- 1 - eJobs position on the online recruitment market in Romania;
- 4 million - is the number of candidates on the platform;
- 19 - experience, the number of years since it is in the industry.

Banca Transilvania, eJobs & BT Store: complementary banking solutions for entrepreneurs
Until recently, the collaboration between BT and eJobs was exclusively related to online recruitment. So the platform was and is for the bank in the top of mind; when looking for new people in the team. As an idea, for those for about 270 jobs announced by BT on eJobs in 2017, over 34,000 applications were received. From now on, the eJobs - BT partnership means something else because eJobs is part, along with several other notorious brands, of a recently launched project, for the first time in terms of entrepreneurs' approach by banks in Romania. We are talking about BT Store, an online hub for presenting complementary banking solutions for business management and management – invoicing, primary accounting, cashflow management, but also employee recruitment. The starting version presents the offers of the brands with which Banca Transilvania started in this project: Smart Bill, Blugento, eJobs, Regina Maria Private Health Network, Ebriza, ThinkOut, Calendis Business, REGnet, DocAv and iFactor. "BT Store will become the meeting place of those who dream, launch and develop solutions of any kind for entrepreneurs. It will be a big showcase of articles for SMEs. People with ideas meet with our Digital Transformation team so that their solutions can have a wide, immediate exposure – because this is where most SMEs are." – says Tiberiu Moisa, Deputy General Manager, Banking for SMEs, Banca Transilvania

How eJobs sees the collaboration for BT Store: "It is an opportunity that I received with all the openness because it is a project that the SME area I think needed a lot of time. We want to grow together in this direction and to be a real and very practical support for those entrepreneurs who need the solutions that this platform brings", says Bogdan Badea. The eJobs representative also has a message for entrepreneurs: "No matter how difficult this moment may seem from the point of view of recruitment, there are many people who want to work. You just need entrepreneurs to go to them with the right messages, on the right channels." Entrepreneurs who enter the BT Store have the following dedicated offer from eJobs:
