Horia Ciorcilă


Horia Ciorcilă has been part of Banca Transilvania’s story since its beginning, as one of its founders. Now serving his seventh term as Chairman of the Board of Directors, he has played a key role in the bank’s development, which has grown over time to become the leader of the banking sector in Romania and Southeast Europe.
At Banca Transilvania, Horia Ciorcilă also serves as:

He is part of the first generation of entrepreneurs in post-1989 Romania. The businesses created at that time laid the foundation for Romania’s entrepreneurial system, and those that grew played a key role in the country’s economic development and European integration. In addition to banking, Mr. Ciorcila has founded and developed businesses in telecommunications, real estate, healthcare, education, sports, hospitality, energy, and solar parks. In 2018, he founded Winners Holding Investments, with a presence in key sectors of the economy.
He was honored the Nihil Sine Deo distinction (2024) granted by the Royal Family of Romania.
He was born in 1963 in Cluj-Napoca.
