Ömer Tetik: My job is to enable people to grow, as intrapreneurs, in BT

Ömer Tetik, Managing Director of Banca Transilvania, on intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship:

• Where I am now I feel I can fulfill certain plans, dreams, I think I can make a difference. My job is to give people the opportunity to become entrepreneurs or grow as intrapreneurs in Banca Transilvania, and that is a pleasure. It's not about having the leading role, it's about being part of a story, that's what motivates me every day. And I don't think there is a playbook.

  
  

• In the case of intrapreneurship, we are also accountable to shareholders, to entrepreneurs. We have to deliver returns, income and growth. A joy and an advantage is that at BT I work with entrepreneurs, and as an intrapreneur I have the chance to work with and see their growth. The disadvantage is that there are a lot of stakeholders that you have to keep in balance. Intrapreneurship in such a regulated company is quite challengingIt's just that when you do it, it's also a great joy because you've impacted the lives and businesses of so many people.

  
  

• I believe that for the entrepreneur starting out, the main investment should be in their own business. But when you start to make a return, to create capital, you should invest as diversified as possible. I'm a fan of the stock market, so I still support investing in stocks, funds, instruments that I find liquid, even if there is volatility. And when the available budget increases, the next step is real estate investments or investments in other businesses.
