For merchants: the BTPOS application from Banca Transilvania transforms the merchant's Android device into a POS

Banca Transilvania launches the BTPOS App, which transforms the Android operating system device of a merchant into a POS that accepts contactless payments with the card, phone or other payment accessories.

BT offers an entire ecosystem of payment solutions: traditional POS, Android POS, mobile POS, BT BTeComm's own eCommerce solution, STAR multi-trader loyalty program, table ticket acceptance, etc. They are presented on BTePOS.ro, the platform through which merchants can order everything they need to offer customers the possibility to pay by card, phone or online.

"Through this launch we continue the digital journey, completing the range of card acceptance solutions for payment. The POS phone application offers entrepreneurs a convenient, fast and practical alternative. The solution can be used by traders either stand alone or integrated with a trader's own application and also complementary to the acceptance solutions already used", says Oana Ilas, Executive Director for Retail Products Development and Management, Banca Transilvania.

BT, the leader of card payment solutions

• Over 43,000 companies have over 80,000 BT POS, and the market share depending on the acceptance rate of card payment solutions at merchants is almost 30%.
• The bank also has a focus in the eCommerce area, having its own BT eComm solution and is the market leader, covering the transaction processing of over 9,700 online merchants.
• The STAR program includes over 19,000 merchants, with about 17,000 physical stores that accept payment in installments and with STAR loyalty points, and over 2,300 online stores.

Banca Transilvania is the first bank in Romania that received, last year, ISO 9001:2015 certification for card acceptance activities for pos payment, respectively eCommerce. The certification body is SGS Romania, part of the SGS group, a world leader in the field of inspection, verification, testing and certification.
