BT advantageous financing for projects and investments in the production of energy from renewable resources and energy efficiency

Banca Transilvania Financial Group - through Banca Transilvania and BT Leasing - supports investments in renewable energy production and energy efficiency by launching the campaign Month Energy Month at BTwhich comes with financing between RON 50,000 and EUR 5 million, under advantageous conditions for customers. This means zero origination fee and negotiable loan term.

The initiative is aimed at legal entities, regardless of turnover, with sustainable, environmentally friendly projects and/or investments, such as: wind power plants, photovoltaic systems, heat pumps, biomass boilers or related to solar thermal energy (from the renewable energy category), full electric or plug-in hybrid cars or replacement of an old equipment, car or machinery with another one, in order to achieve a minimum 30% reduction in energy consumption, provided that the old asset is scrapped/removed from inventory/sold (energy efficiency).

This is why we are now testing the interest of corporate clients for cheaper solutions aimed at increasing energy efficiency", says Omer Tetik, Managing Director, Banca Transilvania.

The campaign has two stages and starts on 22 November:

• 22 November - 24 December this year: interested customers should register online for the campaign;
• 24 December this year - 31 January 2022: the BT team contacts registered customers for details of the investment, its type, size, equity, financing requirements and collateral, as a preamble to loan approval. 31 January 2022 is the date by which the loan or lease application must be submitted.

What credits mean for projects and investments in renewable energy production and energy efficiency:

• 0% origination fee (reduced from the standard 1.5%);
• The loan term is negotiable, depending on the purpose of the financing;  
• The implementation period of the investment should be up to 12 months, flexible depending on the size of the investment;

Leasing for projects and investments in the purchase of full electric or plug-in hybrid cars and energy efficiency means:

• 0% leasing fee (reduced from the standard 2.5%);
• The loan term is negotiable, depending on the purpose of the financing;  

BT's objective: reducing the carbon footprint

Banca Transilvania is the first bank in Romania to provide financing for energy efficiency in the residential sector in Romania from EBRD funds in 2017. BT took the first steps in this direction 10 years ago, by supporting the increase of energy efficiency in the economic activities of SMEs, as well as sustainable growth projects carried out by public institutions. In addition to funding from partnerships with the EBRD under the RoSEFF programme, respectively with IFC and EEEF, Banca Transilvania Financial Group supports environmentally friendly projects including from its own sources and has complex environmental risk assessment models.

One of BT's strategic objectives is to reduce the carbon footprint generated by the portfolio financed by the bank and the other companies of BT Financial Group.
