Gold Recognition from the Community Index for three projects of social involvement of Banca Transilvania

Three social involvement projects supported by Banca Transilvania received Gold Recognition from the Community Index, with a scoring following the evaluation of over 85%.

Azores Sustainability & CSR Services, the market leader in Romania in terms of Sustainability and CSR analyses, has published the fourth edition of the Community Index, the most complex annual ranking of investment projects in communities, structured on almost 20 categories and with a scorecard on 46 indicators. The Community Index annually analyzes over 850 projects in Romania, carried out in January – December. The ranking is part of the Romania CST Index (Corporate Sustainability & Transparency Index), which evaluates the information in the sustainability reports published by the companies.

Projects supported by BT that received Gold Recognition following the analysis of the degree of complexity and performance:

  • Screening saves lives (Banca Transilvania, Regina Maria) – Employee Involvement Category
  • Including in the neighborhood (Banca Transilvania, Bucharest Community Foundation) – Sustainable Cities Category
  • Choose what good deed you want to do through donations made through BT Pay (Banca Transilvania, Save the Children, SOS Children's Villages, Hope and Homes for Children, Give wings, Social Tasuleaza) – Diversity & Inclusion Category


Sustainability and CSR trends
According to Azores Sustainability & CSR Services, the market for investments and donations for communities has grown in recent years and has reached over 80 million euros annually, especially for projects related to:

  • Education for students (8.4%)
  • Health (11.5%)
  • Disadvantaged environments (18.1%)
  • Art & culture (9.2%)
  • Combating climate change (less than 5%)
  • Sustainable cities (4.4%)


Following the analysis, Azores Sustainability & CSR Services has identified the following countries:

  • Greater transparency of companies regarding the results and impact of CSR projects;
  • Greater alignment of the CSR strategy of the companies to the specifics of the industry and to the business strategy;
  • Increased interest of employees in helping communities. Increasing the appreciation of the people who appreciate the companies that offer this opportunity;
  • Increased interest of companies in long-term goals, with a focus on generating positive impact over several years and developing skills that remain in the community.
